I was referred to Dr. Yoon's office after seeing flashes of light in my left eye. An appointment was scheduled and I was told to allow 2 hours for the examination, I was blown away by all of the care and testing and the technology used that day. Dr. Yoon discovered a very dense cataract, however he felt that it would be best for me to be referred to a retinologist to have an examination to assure my retina was not in danger of detaching. Dr. Yoon was very kind, extremely professional also his staff you so pleasant and personable. I would recommend Rockford Eye & Laser to all.

My name is Diane Kordich. I am 52 yrs old. I am a high school teacher. My hobbies are knitting, crocheting, and reading. The things that I enjoy so much were getting harder to do. I realized that I needed help. I reached out to Dr. Yoon at Rockford Eye & Laser Center. I found out that I had cataracts in both eyes at a much younger age than the norm. I went in on a Monday and had surgery on a Thursday. It was a very simple procedure. The next week I had surgery in my other eye. Dr. Yoon made sure I was healing and ready to go back into my classroom ASAP. My eyesight was amazing within 24 hours and kept getting better. I had no clue how bright and colorful the world was.
I opted to have the laser surgery with the Symfony(upgraded) lenses even though my insurance did not pay for it. I pulled out my credit card and DO NOT regret the decision one bit. I no longer need my progressive glasses and can see distance, mid and even close up. Dr. Yoon-You are amazing!

My cataract procedure was the best thing I've done at age 56! I've worn glasses and contacts since middle school. The procedure was less than 30 minutes each eye. I was able to see clearly right after Dr. Yoon said, "All done." I am amazed, I don't believe I ever has 20/20 vision until now. Dr. Yoon is very detailed and precise in his work. Hi – my name is Ned, just a regular guy, who still works, still drives everywhere, but in July my vision started getting very blurry, especially in the right eye. But I kept doing what I had to. Not long after I woke up one day and couldn’t see from my right eye, and my left eye had gotten more blurry, it was getting harder and harder to do simple chores, driving was getting scary. It was very frustrating and stressful.
When I first saw Dr. Yoon, I was very impressed, he explained to me I had very thick, dense cataracts. He explained surgery, the lens that will go in, and everything I would need to know (risks, etc.). He did surgery on my right eye, I believe it took around 8 minutes. When he was finished, I could see him smiling, and said “You did well”, I said, ‘No, you did well!’ It’s amazing, going from blind to nearly 20/20 vision. Dr. Yoon, thank you for giving me my life back! You’re AMAZING, A MIRACLE WORKER!

Since having extensive Lasik eye surgery 20 years ago and the strength of my current prescription, I had only hoped for a minor correction in my vision along with the removal of the cataracts. I was also very concerned about having eye surgery again. I could tell that Dr. Yoon, Dr. Tylka and the staff at Rockford Eye & Laser Center really cared about helping me. Their compassion and kindness put me right at ease. I was shocked and amazed at the outcome to my surgery. I no longer needed glasses or contacts! I had lived so many years in a gray cloudy world without even realizing it. My results were nothing less than a miracle. I am a retired Grandmother who wore contact lens for 30 years. About six months ago my vision was bad and I could not see anything clear, was told I need to see an eye specialist and was told Dr. Yoon was the best. Went to him and he said he could help me(what an understatement). After he removed my cataracts and put implants in my eyes, my whole world became so bright and clear. Dr. Yoon provided excellent treatment for my cataracts. His bed side manner was very comforting during the procedure, in addition to his credentials and skill as a surgeon. I had a great experience with the staff at Rockford Eye and Laser Center. They answered all of my questions prior to surgery and helped make the procedure as comfortable as possible. The procedure was quick with minimal discomfort. I am 100% satisfied and very pleased I decided to go through with Lasik. It has already benefited several aspects of my life including playing sports, wearing sunglasses, and working at a computer. I would suggest going to Rockford Eye and Laser Center to anyone interested in Lasik eye surgery.

I had PRK done about a month ago. I was very hesitant at first because I felt I was doing something that could possibly affect my life permanently. However, Dr. Yoon and his staff were very knowledgeable and that made me feel most comfortable. We had a roadblock in that we could not do Lasik due to the shape of my eye. I felt confident that Dr. Yoon was taking all precautions necessary to keep my health at the utmost importance, by not doing Lasik. Instead we chose PRK. The process of PRK made me nervous but I went ahead. I believe there was more recovery than Lasik but the possible side effects were supposed to be lower. In retrospect I’m happy I did PRK. I haven’t had any complications, no halos, no dry eyes, and 20/20 vision. (Possibly better!) Rockford Eye and Laser Center did everything perfectly. There were no unexpected negative surprises. The entire process couldn’t have gone any better. Thanks for everything!

This has been an awesome experience for me; the only regret I have is that I waited so long to get it done. I am an outdoors person; I love nature, hiking, biking, canoeing etc. To be able to not worry about the wind blowing something under my contacts or just to be able to “see” the dragonflies dancing has been incredible. I am also thrilled with the decision to do the monovision, being able to see when I look up from a book without adjusting the readers yeah! No more cleaning solutions, spare contacts, case, glasses, packing for vacation or an overnight trip will be so much easier. Easiest way to describe it, “freedom”.

I have struggled with glasses and contact lenses since I was in 7th grade. I always disliked wearing glasses and a couple of years ago I became unable to wear contact lenses. Having to wear glasses all the time became very bothersome so I decided to look into Lasik surgery. What Dr. Yoon and his staff have done for me is a dream come true. I am now seeing perfectly. It is great to wake up and not have to look for my glasses, worry about cleaning them multiple times per day, etc. I am a very active person and spend a lot of time outdoors. Just being able to wear sunglasses is awesome. No more headaches from squinting all day. The whole procedure was totally painless and having Lasik was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
